How Do We Deal with Our Ever Growing To-Do Lists?

Updated: Dec 13, 2025

Do you currently have tasks on your ‘to-do’ lists that you know you must accomplish but simply don't feel like doing?

Often, these items get carried from one week to the next because we choose to focus on the ‘want to’ activities instead. Some are quick and easy tasks that we haven’t scheduled time for, and others are initial steps to our bigger goals that we ignore for a variety of reasons.

These unfinished items and growing lists unintentionally drain our energy! If we don't have a mechanism to cross important tasks off the list, it easily becomes out of control.

What is one task on YOUR list that you wish you could cross off?

  • Why is this task so important?

  • How much time would it actually take to complete?

  • Why haven’t you been able to complete it?

Some of the most common blocks I hear from clients…

“It feels like a huge undertaking and I feel overwhelmed”

“I hate doing that particular task”

“I have a fear that I might not be able to do it”

“There is no obstacle, I just need to start it”

Imagine how it would feel to cross this item off your list! It is likely draining some of your energy just knowing it needs to get done. The longer we procrastinate completing things we don’t want to do, the less energy we have to create room for things we actually want to do!

What is currently blocking YOU from completing a specific task off your list?
